Stephen Davy has been designing and building websites for over 10 years. For most of that time the only commercial work was in-house for Eldon Technology Limited however in his "spare time" Stephen has helped various other people in their own areas of business by designing, building and developing websites for them. Since leaving Eldon Technology at the end of 2005 he has been providing website design and build services as Davy and Davy.........

In the beginning...
In 1995 Eldon Technology decided it needed a website, As "person in charge of marketing" with "software skills" I seemed to have the ideal mix for the job so I took it on. And that was the start of my web design career. The site was basic HTML 4.0 and the background content proved to be useful for many years to come, not only promoting the business as a whole but also providing historical and geographic information of interest to prospective employees.
The Eldon Technology site had a series of updates over the years but no longer exists because the company's trading name has changed.
Villa Rosa - Lanzarote
The www.villawithpool.co.uk website was developed in late 2002 to promote Villa Rosa - Lanzarote. This is my own site promoting holiday rentals at our house, which sleeps six people in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. This is our main method of promoting the villa and results in steady bookings throughout the year. The site has had minor styling changes and one major change to comply with HTML 4.01, CSS and WAI, although the content is mostly as it was in 2002.
A separate sub-domain VillaForTwo was added in 2007 to promote Villa Rosa as a villa offering spacious accommodation for just two people.
Both sites incorporate PHP scripting to provide availability information for immediate on-line bookings using PayPal as a card agency.
Westfield Lodge Apartments
Westfield Lodge Apartments nestle amongst moody moorland high above the village of Haworth in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, the world-renowned spiritual home of the literary Brontë family. This website includes a full embedded online live booking system for these 20 holiday apartments, using PHP and a backend MySQL database, and a partial Content Management System for updating special offers and other seasonal content.
DPA Consultants
DPA Human Resource Consultants provides bespoke solutions across a range of Human Resource issues across most business sectors. The website replaced a one page template based site that had been in existance for a number of years. My activities incuded assisting with a transfer of domain registrars and webspace hosts.
Illingworth McNair Insurance Brokers
This is a replacement website for Illingworth McNair Insurance Brokers, a long established firm of independent insurance brokers based in Bingley, West Yorkshire. The site incudes an extensive dynamic on-line enquiry facilities with PHP control and a small Customer Management System for changing content such a testimonials.
Suspended Ceilings 2 Go
Suspended Ceilings 2 Go is a new but rapidly growing suspended ceilings components and ceiling tile supply only company, but part of a family business with over 20 years experience of supplying and fitting most types of suspended ceilings into a variety of premises. The site incudes on-line shopping which is PHP based and fully developed in house. The system uses a MySQL backend database and allows the owner to manipulate stock, pricing and product images from a web interface.
Kildwick Cleaning Services
Kildwick Cleaning Limited is is a family run company that provides daily office cleaning services and related cleaning and janitorial supplies to businesses and organisations in and around the Aire Valley in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The website was created in 2007 to add the medium of the World Wide Web to the established promotional and marketing methods that Kildwick has employed since its inception in 1990.
Rapunzel Wigs - Wigs and Hairpieces
Rapunzel Wigs is a full on-line shopping website created in early 2007 for a new venture. The site has a MySQL backend database that holds product information and uses PHP to produce dynamic shopping pages with other contact and information pages. The database can be populated using a web based interface and gives the site owner full and ongoing flexibility with regard to product availability, pricing and descriptions. Although the shopping system is based on a freely available third party package it has been extensively modified to suit the look, feel and particular requirements if this business.
AA4 Vans - Van Hire, Van Sales, Van Transport
The AA4Vans website encompasses four different businesses under one umbrella: AA Van Hire, AA Flexi-Fleet contract hire, Ashley Armstrong Commercials, light commercial vehicle sales, and Bradford Van Transport. The Vans Sales business is supported by an Access database, located outside the website, controlling the stock lists and accompanying images. The database exports simple text files to site itself this obviating the need for database support by the host. The web pages uses PHP to extract and display the stock lists. Created over the Summer of 2006 I worked very closely with the site owner to produce the look and feel he required.
DeconSys Technology Ltd
The DeconSys Technology Ltd web site is a 2006 replacement of an earlier site designed by others. It is fully compliant site with simple yet striking styling, in keeping with an existing corporate image, informing potential clients exactly what the company is capable of as soon as they enter. The existing host server was PHP enabled and so this facility been utilised by including a PHP based enquiry form on the contacts page.
Lower Fields Primary School, Bradford, West Yorkshire
The Lower Fields Primary School site went live in May 2006. Still in its infancy we are gradually increasing the amount of content and the site is already receiving significant hits. Naturally this is a fully W3C compliant website.
Snowden's of Haworth
Snowden's of Haworth is Army Surplus and Outdoor Clothing Shop located in Haworth, West Yorkshire. The site was born in 2000 to encourage visitors to the shop and for on-line sales. Having gone through two major makeovers the emphasis has moved to e-commerce and the site is HTML 4.01, CSS and WAI compliant.
11th Keighley (Cullingworth) Scout Group
The 11th Keighley (Cullingworth) Scout Group website had its first showing in 2001. The aim is to promote the Scout Group and to provide basic information and contact details to parents. The basic format has not changed since inception but the site is now HTML 4.01, CSS and WAI compliant.
