About us

Davy and Davy is actually Stephen Davy, although he has help and support from his wife Teresa.

Stephen and Teresa have worked together as a team for 10 years or so, providing a mixture of internal marketing as well as other corporate functions inside a growing company.  Stephen decided to go it alone to provide web design and build services to others, while Teresa moved out of marketing into a bigger predominantly HR role.  However, Teresa continues to use her marketing skills to help Stephen in the "Davy and Davy" venture.

Stephen

Armed with an electronics engineering degree, Stephen started his working life at Thorn Consumer Electronics, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK, in 1974.  After a short time he moved from electronics design into software design, initially for embedded TV receiver control systems but eventually into many TV related areas.  In 1988 Stephen formed Eldon Technology Limited, an electronics design house, with ten other colleagues.  As a founder Director, Stephen took an active role in many of the business matters, as well as his role as sole software engineer.  As the company (and software team) expanded, Stephen moved out of software development to concentrate on other areas of the business including marketing, facilities and personnel.

In 1995 the company decided it needed a website which was, in retrospect, a very forward looking idea.  Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), the core of the WWW, was after all just getting off the ground at that time.  As "person in charge of marketing" with "software skills" this seemed to be an ideal mix for the job so Stephen took it on.  And that was the start of Stephen's web design career.

Over the years in his "spare time" Stephen has also helped other people in their own areas of business by designing, building and developing websites for them.  These include eCommerce sites as well as simpler information sites.

In 2005 Stephen decided that he would leave Eldon Technology, a company now 160 strong and part of EchoStar, a larger international organisation and so "Davy and Davy" begins.

Teresa

Teresa married Stephen in 1977 and (probably) funded his first home computer ("Ohio Superboard") soon afterwards.  Her early career in finance was replaced by motherhood in 1980 and was supplemented by children and people related professional activities after a few years, culminating in a degree in Home and Community Studies.  Strangely Teresa then took up a career in marketing and in 1995 joined Stephen at Eldon Technology in marketing, facilities and personnel. Once again, the mix of skills became ideal qualities for the job.

From 1995 until recent times Teresa and Stephen worked as a close and successful team carrying out the functions outlined.  In 2005, Teresa became Head of Human Resources for the European arm of EchoStar Technologies Corporation, an arm that includes Eldon Technology in the UK.
